Lesson 1. Grammars You, I, he/she and it

In this class, we will show you some most important pronouns in Chinese.  The general principle is, unlike English, Chinese do not change form for pronouns based on their role in sentence (as subjective or objective). 

Section A.  General

Section B.  Plural

Equivalent to the plural forms to put behind other pronounces as shown below.

You (in plural)

They (male, or mix of male and female)

They (female)

11. 它们ta1men  

They (it in plural)

Section C. Ownership

Equivalent to in English to demonstration ownership

Your/yours

14. 你们的 ni3men2de  

Your/yours in plural

15. 我的 wo3de  

my/mine

16. 我们的wo3men2de  

Our/ours

17. 他的/她的/它的        ta1de  

     his /her(s) /its

We put these 3 words together to emphasize that they have the same pronunciation.

18. 他们的 /她们的 /它们的      ta1 men de  

their(s) for male, female, and non-human references
